Live Edge Maple and Steel Dining Table

Chris McKay

As a teenager, When Chris McKay first took tools to metal, it was to stainless steel and unraveling the mysteries of transforming (what essentially was) a two dimensional sheet of steel into a truly three dimensional form.

He progressed through the sculptor's formative foundry-man, finisher and obtained a bachelors degree in Interior Design, all the while living fabrication, composition and color.

Today, his love remains the complexity of steel, and his skill lies in the ability to coax form from those sheets.

That he has been successful in doing so are the awards and shows, the collections that support him, and the state of the artist, for he will continue to grow himself.
